I noticed that a lot of players are activating threatening roar when the opponent passes priority in main phase 1, but can't it be used in the start step of the battle phase?
The turn player has priority to declare an attack at the beginning of the battle phase. Because that and you can't chain it to the declaration of the attack (it won't be negated becuase the attack has already been declared), and you want your opponent to coduct as much as their turn as possible, without knowing that they won't be able to attack, the optimal time to activate Roar is when they attempt to end Main Phase I.
I am aware that the attack will still go through if Threatening Roar is chained to the declaration of the attack, but attacks are declared in the battle step of the battle phase. Can't you activate threatening roar in the start step?
